V Tripp has spent a lifetime designing, making, and improving things. Tripp-Works is a continuation of that curiosity—a small Texas studio/shop devoted to creating interesting objects that reward handling, close inspection, and display.

Each object begins with V Tripp and is developed through prototypes, materials, tooling, fixtures, and shop processes chosen specifically for the design. Production is intentionally small and hands-on, with individual operations performed in the Tripp-Works shop and, when appropriate, by carefully selected outside specialists.

The collection is not limited to a particular subject. Engineering, mechanical forms, natural materials, history, and unexpected discoveries can all provide a starting point. What connects the work is a common approach to proportion, materials, function, finish, and detail—and the belief that an object should be interesting enough to pick up, examine, and keep.

How We Work

Tripp-Works begins with an idea, not a manufacturing method. We develop the form, materials, proportions, and physical experience of an object first, then choose the processes that best serve it. That may mean machining, hand fitting, bonding, welding, engraving, finishing, or working with specialized outside craftsmen when they can do a particular operation better.

We favor practical methods, good materials, and visible evidence of making over unnecessary perfection. Some variation from object to object is expected and welcome. Each piece is designed by V Tripp and completed under his direction, whether made entirely in our shop or with selected outside processes.
